Course on Gender, Health and Development 

Every year for the past 5 years we have conducted a, 15 day course on Gender, Health and development for Health activists and facilitators. This was in English with participants from all over India

The course consists of 4 modules:

Module 1 - Introduction to concepts of Gender, Sexuality and Patriarchy in the context of health, human rights and development.

Module 2 - Social and Gender Issues of Health

Module 3 - Applying Concepts and Tools to Critique Information, Research, Policies and Programs.

Module 4 - Social Action: Mobilisation, Advocacy and Campaign.

Women's health in Kerala: Issues and challenges - This workshop organised by Sakhi as a follow-up of the International Women's Health Meet, 2006 held at Delhi and was organised with the aim of understanding and discussing the current issues and challenges in the context of the health of women from the state of Kerala.

Gender and Decentralised planning in India - This study is a part of the international research programme "Gender, Citizenship and Governance" faciliated and financed by the Women, Gender and development programme of Royal Tropical Institute(KIT), Amsterdam, Netherlands. The study was conducted in South Africa and South Asia.

Gender Based Violence - This study was undertaken by Sakhi-resource center for women on behalf of the Integrated Population and development Project (IPD), Department of Health, Government of Kerala.

The study on Gender based Violence in Kerala is intended to assess the needs of survivors of gender based violence (GBV) as a first step towards strengthening the efforts of the health system in Kerala, to effectively advocate and coordinate various initiatives to address gender based violence as a public health issue. The study was undertaken in the three districts of Ernakulam, Palakkad and Kozhikode.

Kerala's Development - a feminist perspective - This workshop is organized with a view to assessing Kerala's development from a feminist perspective and through this process intends to evolve perspectives for future programmes
