Livelihood enhancement

It is when we started to engage in post flood rehabilitation, that we started our work on livelihood enhancement.. After the 2018 deluge, Sakhi was involved in rehabilitation efforts and supported affected woman to rebuild their lives through livelihood support. We provide skill trainings in areas in which they were familiar like farming, poultry, cattle rearing, bee keeping, bag making, food processing etc. In certain areas women were trained in non stereotypical skills like electronic equipment training, masonry etc. This activities were done in collaboration with NGOs like Rastha, Waynad and Centre for Rural Management, Kottayam and Archana women’s centre, Kottayam.
